This elegant private residence reflects a seamless marriage of Old-World French country charm with the comfort and innovation of modern living. Our team at Adam Green Architect was entrusted to lead a transformative renovation of a once-grand 1960s ranch home, reimagining it as a warm yet sophisticated retreat that celebrates craftsmanship, natural beauty, and contemporary convenience.
The design preserves select elements of the original house while radically opening the main level floor plan. Natural light now floods the interiors, accentuating expansive views of the adjacent golf course. These vistas are further emphasized by a glass-railed cantilevered balcony, which floats above a terraced pool deck with integrated sun lounge and custom fire pit—a layered outdoor living environment designed for both intimate gatherings and large-scale entertaining.
Materiality plays a central role in the home’s timeless character. Locally quarried limestone, hand-worked copper accents, and reclaimed antique wood combine to provide depth, texture, and authenticity. These tactile materials carry through the interiors, grounding the home with a sense of history and permanence while maintaining an air of understated luxury.
In contrast to its traditional materials, the residence incorporates a comprehensive smart home system that seamlessly integrates lighting, temperature control, security, and entertainment—placing total comfort and convenience at the homeowner’s fingertips. This discreet layer of technology ensures the home is as functional as it is beautiful, without compromising its Old-World sensibilities.
Throughout, the design includes unexpected moments of delight. Hidden passageways create intrigue, while a three-sided glass fireplace serves as a sculptural centerpiece visible from multiple vantage points. Custom-built wine racks enhance both function and artistry, reflecting the homeowner’s lifestyle and passions.
