This small yet sophisticated 1960s-era bank branch underwent a thoughtfully considered refresh, marking another successful collaboration between Matt Wagner Design and Adam Green Architect. The renovation sought to modernize the facility while honoring the building’s original mid-century character, creating a welcoming and functional environment for both customers and staff.

A key feature of the renovation was the replacement of the original teller wall with modern teller “pods”, which foster a more personal and approachable banking experience. Additional lounge areas and convenience stations were introduced, providing comfort and functionality without compromising the branch’s circulation or efficiency.

While the design largely adhered to the client’s brand standards, the team was granted creative latitude to deviate where appropriate, integrating elements that complemented the building’s retro finishes and architectural details. The result is a branch that respects its mid-century heritage while projecting a contemporary, customer-focused identity.

Through a careful balance of historic sensitivity, functional upgrades, and brand alignment, this renovation transforms a modest bank branch into a space that is both timeless and inviting, proving that even small-scale projects can embody thoughtful design and character.
